HUMAN SIGHT DOES NOT LIMIT GOD

It’s easy to believe in those we see, and hear. For many of us belief comes from seeing and what information reveals to be true, but real belief comes without seeing. Seeing never really worked that way, back in Genesis Adam didn’t see God he heard him and felt his presence, he saw his creation in the garden of Eden and knew then everything is in God’s hands. So why do we suffer so much with seeing now? Could it be distractions? Lack of relationship? Or maybe the fall took our sight? Perhaps it’s all the above, the fall allowed sin to enter the world and sin separates us from God when we lack repentance. Repentance, the true form of it comes distraction free filled with reflection and reverence for all that honors Yahweh. (2 Peter 3:9)The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” Many Christians proclaim we believe in God with every piece of our heart yet we fail trusting him beyond what we can see. We trust our own eyes rather than HIS. We can’t see the picture yet he can, and somehow that isn’t enough for us. You may be reading this thinking to yourself “but I do trust God with every area in my life”, but let’s take inventory. When was the last time you didn’t worry about paying the bills, not even for a moment; trusting God has already paid them? Maybe you can’t help but feel helpless every time your teenager speaks harshly or lies about their actions and you feel hopeless, like they’ll never become who God called them to be. Or maybe you and your family have prayed earnestly for a loved one’s health but each day that passes they are crippled by more pain and weakness, so you feel unheard by heaven. You see none of these things make us evil or even a bad christian, it just makes us human. It's hard to see into the unknown ourselves, to trust what we can’t fathom but if we ask God to awaken our spiritual eyes a little more everyday we can truly step into a new a life without limits. God isn’t defined by our belief in him, he’s not like tinker bell and needs us to believe in him; rather we need him, we need to believe in him to live eternally. Seeing just how much we are at the hands of his mercy should confirm he is limitless and should not be boxed in. He can provide beyond your bank account balance, he can heal your loved one, he can turn a rebellious child into the next prophet. There is and will never be anything too great for Jesus. But we have to take the blinders off, silence the noise all around and ask God for our unbelief and limitations that we set. The world isn’t just physical, it’s spiritual. You can feel it, sense it and see it when you you allow yourself time with Jesus, time in his word, (Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. music that speaks to the spirit and a heart that never hardens”. This isn’t imaginary or saved for those called to be pastors, this is for all of his children that call themselves HIS. (2 Corinthians 3:16)“But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed”.Taking the world out and replacing it with a spiritual lens sounds a little odd, but aren’t we all called to walk the narrow road? May we all yearn for open eyes, ears that hear and faith that has no limits.

FAITH SCRIPTURE

Matthew 19:26

  • But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Job 11:7-9

  • “Can you find out the deep things of God?
Can you find out the limit of the Almighty?
It is higher than heaven[a]—what can you do?
Deeper than Sheol—what can you know?
Its measure is longer than the earth
        and broader than the sea.”

Ephesians 4:18

  • “They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.”

PRAYER TO SPEAK

Jesus I know I get carried away by what I can see, but remind me you are like the wind. I can’t see you, but I can feel you all around me. You add refreshment to my day and leave nothing untouched, there is nowhere I can go without your eyes on me, give me eyes to see what you want me to see and closeness with you to believe where i doubt. You are the God of miracles, you do them everyday help my unbelief and give me a heart that moves you. Do not allow my human flesh to put you in a box where you do not belong, but see you for the greatness you are.

In Jesus name

Amen.

SCRIPTURE

Isaiah 40:28

PRAYER OVER YOU

Father, Lord help my spiritual sibling to have eyes from heaven. Help them see as you do, not by what’s in front of us but by what we cannot see yet still feel. We can’t see you but we know you are near, may they hold onto the belief when the world tries to blindfold them in their darkest time. Remind them you are still the light that remains, working in the mystery. Give them faith that does not limit you, but that believes nothing it too impossible for you. In Jesus name

Amen
